What is a Doula?
According to the DONA International website:
The word “doula” comes from ancient Greek meaning “woman who serves” and is refer to trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informationals support the mother before, during and that birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.
My Service Package
- I provide free consultation, with at new parents. You should the comfortable with your doula because you sharing intimate part your life with
her. - As birth doula I provide 2 prenatal appointments. At these appointments can cover topics such as birth plan, pain management, labor positions, in early labor, and is time the hospital. Also discuss nutrition, childcare, how to hire pediatrician, or other topics have questions about.
- I provide you with “on call” period 3 weeks prior your due date and 2 weeks after. The window will remain close by and provide you way in touch with the quickly into labor. Of course available outside this window for questions, but this time are most likely to need me. You will also have name and number of backups in case you cannot reach me. In event are leave town, in advance which number to call.
- I provide continuous support during your labor. I will help with relaxation, provide emotional support, and advocate for you. I will also aim to bring in anyone you want as part of experience, the father, your mother, good friend, or anyone else. I can show some massage techniques, give them encouragement, or make sure eat while in labor.
- Immediately their birth can stay with of first 1-2 hours. My goal in time is help their new family, in anyway your need. I can help to start breastfeeding and discuss your plans for recovery.
- I also provide 1 postpartum appointment. It visit can done your convenience in weeks following your birth. At postpartum visits can talk about breastfeeding, sleeping, childcare, and your birth experience.
- More postpartum hours can added for additional fee.
